Software Testing QA Architect salary for Freshers and Experienced

Published On: April 8, 2024

These days, everyone uses software to simplify their lives. As a result, software testers are always needed to ensure the program is error-free. You can therefore start a career in this in-demand field or shift careers altogether. Automation testers are paid highly in India. In India, the average annual income of a software testing QA architect is approximately between ₹13L and ₹51L. Software testers may focus on performance testing, API testing, security testing, database testing, and other areas in addition to automated skills.

What is a Software Testing QA Architect?

To make sure that the final result of any software development lifecycle (SDLC) complies with the general and scope-agreed requirements, quality assurance, or QA, is a standard procedure.

To become a software testing QA architect, one must have excellent knowledge of any programming language, write automated testing skills in both API and UI, as well as mobile applications, and the ability to create custom automated testing frameworks.

What does a software testing QA architect do?

QA architects work mostly for large firms and agencies that produce error-free software for other companies. The goal of QA architects’ work is to create flawless software solutions that are effective and satisfying for end users. Within the organization they work for, they are also in charge of developing programs and standard coding procedures for other software designers.

Software testing QA architects have a variety of responsibilities, including ensuring that their creations are affordable and keeping up with technological advances. To make sure the software is operating properly, they design, implement, and then periodically debug the program.

Software Tester QA Architect Salary for Freshers and Experienced

Depending on location and organization level, the average software tester and QA architect salary for freshers in India is between INR 3LPA and INR 6.5LPA.

A software testing QA architect’s salary for experience (3–5 years) is between INR 7.5 lakh and INR 12 lakh per annum in India.

However, the annual income of software testing QA architects may differ based on a candidate’s domain and technical expertise.

Skills Required to Become a Software Tester QA Architect

Nowadays, two types of people work in “Software Testing,” such as those with IT backgrounds and those without.

With their background in IT, they will be able to access the software’s essential functionality (such as automation testing).

Non-IT Background: They should have a rudimentary understanding of UT (user testing), but they usually operate without the use of codes (manual testers).

For IT background candidates, becoming a software tester QA architect requires the following skills:

  • Programming languages such as C#, PHP, Java or Python
  • API testing, mobile app testing (android & iOS), web testing, etc
  • SQL database and software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, etc.
  • Performance or security testing.

Knowledge of Tools and Technologies for Software Tester QA Architect

  • Cloud Computing Technologies, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Understanding of DevOps, including CI/CD, for setting up the environment in which automation scripts execute.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum to advance in your position as a product or project manager.
  • Understand how to use automation tools correctly for every activity. Some of them are as follows:
    • Avo Assure: Adaptable to all skill levels
    • Kobiton: For testing on actual hardware
    • Selenium is a popular tool for repeatable web app testing that aids in automating web browsers.
    • Cypress is a well-known automation tool with an average response time of 20 milliseconds.
    • TestComplete: Capable of producing tests with both code and without code
    • testRigor: Testers’ effective usage of testRigor for test case management and integrations with CI/CD
    • Subject7: Very flexible and user-friendly
    • Virtuoso: Ideal for projects requiring both speed and quality in addition to significant scalability.

For non-IT background candidates, becoming a software tester QA architect requires the following skills:

Database: It allows you to operate beyond what automation can accomplish.

ETL stands for Extracting, Transformation, and Loading: transform the source data, then load it into a single repository.

Salesforce: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or Salesforce Dot Com testing verifies that the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) is proceeding as required from the perspective of the client.

Bigdata: is the process of putting large data applications through quality assurance testing.

Analytics: With the help of comparisons like pass/fail ratios, bug percentages, etc., testers may gauge their performance.

Fundamentals of Networking: Network performance analysis and testing are used to find and address defects and other associated problems in the network.

Fundamentals of shell scripting or UNIX: For thorough system monitoring, it’s critical to understand this scripting.

CI/CD: Continuous integration, delivery, and deployment, or CI/CD, assists in the development of repeatable, testing, and deployment processes and notifies users when a problem occurs. Jenkins Query Monitoring Tool is an example of an instrument for keeping an eye on particular portions. Among the most often used tools are Atera, NinjaOne, and so forth.

Tools for robotic process automation, or RPA: To put it briefly, this technology facilitates the creation, deployment, and management of software robots—digital systems and software that mimic human participation. BluePrism, UiPath, and other tools are among the best.

Tools and Codeless Tools to Run Testing

  • In-depth knowledge of any tools such as Power BI, MSBI, Tableau, and Oracle Business Objects
  • Understanding of any codeless tools such as Katalon, Testim, Cloud QA, and TOSCA MBTA (Model-Based Test Automation)
  • ACCELQ

Apart from these technical skills, IT and non-IT technical background students must have the following skills to jumpstart their career as QA software testers:

  • Analytical Skills
  • Problem-Solving Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Time and Goal Oriented
